OWN THE GREY

The Power of Perspective - 15 min meditation

Debra Jones RM Season 4 Episode 74

The belief that life is a struggle can become a self-fulfilling prophecy. When we expect difficulties, exhaustion, and obstacles, they often become our reality. This is why people with consistent negative beliefs often report feeling tired all the time. In contrast, those who live in harmony with nature tend to experience life as a natural flow, staying connected to its energy, creativity, and freshness.

Meditation can help us tap into this source, shifting our perspective from the level of the problem to the level of the solution. Come, meditate with me...

Beliefs can greatly impact our experience of life, and one common belief that can hold us back is the idea that life is a struggle. While it's true that many people face daily challenges, this doesn't mean that life must be a struggle. In fact, individuals who face adversity often exhibit remarkable hope, faith, and optimism. By shifting our mindset and letting go of the idea that life is a struggle, we can regain our youthful energy and vitality. This allows us to see the world in a new light, revealing its beauty as a creative, ever-renewing, and constantly flowing force.

Today we’ll explore how this works.

The Self-Fulfilling Nature of Struggle
The belief that life is a struggle can become a self-fulfilling prophecy. When we expect difficulties, exhaustion, and obstacles, they often become our reality. This is why people with consistent negative beliefs often report feeling tired all the time. In contrast, those who live in harmony with nature tend to experience life as a natural flow, staying connected to its energy, creativity, and freshness.

Common Traits of Those Who Flow with Life

  • They take an allowing attitude, approaching situations without resistance and treating others with kindness and understanding.
  • They share responsibility with others, lightening the load for everyone.
  • They're open to different solutions, allowing problems to unfold naturally.
  • They're adaptable and receptive to new ideas.

Common Traits of Those Who Struggle

  • They try to control situations and others, often creating obstacles and resistance.
  • They micromanage, increasing conflict and tension.
  • They insist on their own way, leading to more problems.
  • They're closed off to new perspectives and solutions.

We all exhibit both sets of traits, as we're selective in how we approach life. Some tasks come easily, while others feel impossible. The key is to recognize that struggle is not a fundamental aspect of life, but rather an effect of our own mindset. By shifting our perspective, we can move from the level of problems to the level of solutions.

We often get stuck in a cycle of struggle, trying to solve problems at the same level where they exist. This is why we may find ourselves struggling with the same issues year after year, whether it's weight, addiction, low self-esteem, or relationship problems. However, solutions arise from a deeper source within our awareness, making it effortless to take the necessary actions.

Meditation can help us tap into this source, shifting our perspective from the level of the problem to the level of the solution. By connecting with our pure awareness, we can smooth out our path to success from the very beginning.

The phrase "Ask and you will receive" holds a profound truth. The asking and knocking on the door occur within our consciousness. When we awaken to this understanding, we experience a moment of clarity, lightness, and energy. This can be the starting point for a life of total non-struggle.

As we prepare to meditate, let's focus on the thought: "I allow the flow of life." When your mind wanders, gently return your attention to this thought, allowing yourself to settle into a state of calm and clarity.

Let’s meditate together.
